May 1, 2013 — San Francisco, CA StubHub today announced it has selected San Francisco non-profit Real Options for City Kids (R.O.C.K.) as its latest Rising Star, an award to recognize grassroots non-profits expanding access and opportunity for at-risk youth.
The award comes with $55,000 in grant funding from the StubHub Foundation (a corporate advised fund of the Silicon Valley Community Foundation), use of the StubHub platform for fundraising, and other pro bono resources. In celebration, R.O.C.K. and StubHub invite all San Franciscans to a special event on May 31, Funk Out with R.O.C.K.at Mighty in San Francisco. The 8th Annual Funk Out with R.O.C.K. event is an over-the-top social event featuring live, original funk music by Stymie & the Pimp Jones Luv Orchestra, a silent auction including StubHub giveaways, and a Master of the Funkcompetition in which San Franciscans will compete to be crowned the funkiest. All event proceeds will benefit R.O.C.K., an award-winning program in San Franciscos Visitacion Valley providing positive opportunities for children and youth through sports and outdoor programs, learning enrichment, leadership development and community service projects.
