Stanley Cup Finals Update: Getting Tighter

The Stanley Cup Finals have gotten tighter. The Tampa Bay Lightning and Chicago Blackhawks are all knotted up at one game a piece as we enter Game 3 tonight in Chicago. This will be the Blackhawks first home game of the series and their first hosted Finals game since Game 5 of the 2013 Stanley Cup Finals against the Boston Bruins. The Blackhawks are 7-1 at home during the playoffs this year and the Lightning are 7-3 on the road. Let’s find out how games 1 and 2 have affected demand and ticket prices for each remaining game so far:

2015 NHL Stanley Cup Finals Average Ticket Price Sold on StubHub

Chicago Blackhawks at Tampa Bay Lightning Game 1: $500

Chicago Blackhawks at Tampa Bay Lightning Game 2: $635

Tampa Bay Lightning at Chicago Blackhawks Game 3: $1,060

Tampa Bay Lightning at Chicago Blackhawks Game 4: $1,282

Chicago Blackhawks at Tampa Bay Lightning Game 5: $744

If Necessary Games:

The cheapest ticket  available for tonight’s game in Chicago is going for around $350 with 400 listings left on StubHub. The price has dropped for Game 3 a little this week as sellers look to unload their tickets. Now that Game 5 is assured, there has been some decent demand with the price for it moving up a bit. Each game has been decided by just one goal so far and after a gutty performance by the Lightning coming from behind in Game 2, this series just got a little tighter.
