StubHub Announces Launch in Germany

  • StubHub launches as an Official Ticketing Partner and Marketplace of Splash! and Melt! Festivals, including face value tickets direct from the event organizers
  • Germany launch marks StubHub’s first expansion in continental Europe

Berlin, September 22, 2015. StubHub, an eBay company, has today launched its trusted ticket marketplace in Germany. It follows the successful expansion in the UK, where StubHub launched in 2012. StubHub is a safe and secure platform for buyers and sellers to exchange tickets for key sports and live entertainment events. As a pure marketplace, StubHub does not own any inventory, nor does it set prices for the tickets listed on the website.

StubHub’s business model is focused on transparency for sellers and buyers. Buyers will be charged a service fee of €5 per transaction, which includes shipping charges.

In addition to being a resale platform, StubHub will be providing a distribution channel for event organizers to list primary tickets at face value plus fees. StubHub’s first partnership in Germany is with the Splash! and Melt! music festivals, where StubHub will serve as an Official Ticketing Partner and Marketplace.

StubHub will launch with View From Section technology, initially at eight leading venues in Germany including the Mercedes-Benz Arena, Berlin and the Allianz Arena, Munich.  This will enable fans to view the experience of the event from their seat prior to purchase.

In the United States, StubHub has grown from selling just four tickets a day when it was founded in 2000 to become the leading ticket marketplace and now sells a ticket every single second.

StubHub knows that safety and security are a priority for both buyers and sellers. Every purchase made through StubHub in Germany is backed by the Buyer Protection Program (Käuferschutz). StubHub promises that fans will receive their tickets in time for the event and they will be valid for entry. In the unlikely case that fans have an issue with their tickets, StubHub will find comparable or better tickets to the event, or at the very least give fans a full refund.

For Germany, StubHub will have a dedicated German-speaking customer support team working seven days a week. StubHub consistently holds some of the highest customer satisfaction ratings in e-commerce.
