California Buyers Outnumber Massachusetts Buyers in New Ticket Trends from StubHub for Super Sunday

Recent World Series trends indicate California buyers may travel more readily than Massachusetts

3,900 Tickets Currently Available; Get-In Prices Hovering Around $2,900

Following the completion of two exciting championship games in the AFC and NFC, the teams have been decided and StubHub is monitoring ticket-sales trends in the countdown to the Big Game on February 3 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, GA.

With Tom Brady taking the Patriots to their league-leading 11th Super Bowl appearance, and his 9th, only time will tell if New England will show championship fatigue. For Angelenos, this is their first time in over 35 years seeing a hometown team make it to the Big Game and for Rams fans – whether maintaining their allegiance from St. Louis or new-found, Angeleno fandom – they are hoping to see the team reap redemption over the Patriots in a rematch of the 2002 game.  

As we wait for fans to make their travel plans and buy their tickets, initial trends on StubHub include:

  • Rams Fans Represent #1 in Demand: 13% of tickets sold for the big game come from ticket buyers in California. 
  • International Demand Is Picking Up: Buyers from seven different countries outside of the US have purchased tickets. Ranking by volume is:

  3. Brazil
  4. Germany
  5. Australia
  6. Hong Kong
  7. Japan
  • 3,900 tickets currently available to purchase on StubHub
  • $2,969 is the least-expensive ticket available for purchase for Upper Corner seats 
  • The average price of tickets sold is currently at $5,617

“Fans are buying tickets and booking their travel plans to Atlanta,” said Scott Jablonski, General Manager of the NFL Business for StubHub. “This is an exciting matchup for fans of both teams, and we’re currently seeing California buyers outnumber Massachusetts buyers. That being said, trends and ticket prices shift with demand, so we’d recommend fans get their Super Bowl plans together soon if they want to be sure to get to the game.”
