“Ready, Set, Live”: StubHub and Beachbody® Team Up to Prepare Fans for the “Rigors” of Summer Music Festivals

Developed by Beachbody Super Trainers Joel & Jericho, the Fun “Fitness Regimen” Preps Festival Goers to Keep Up with Crowd Surfing, Fist Pumping and More

NEW YORK – JUNE 13, 2017 – Don’t let festival season kick your butt! Whether you want to build endurance to make the rounds at music festivals or get in shape for the mosh pit at a big stadium show this summer, StubHub and Beachbody have a solution to get you ready to rock.

“Ready, Set, Live” is a new workout created by StubHub and Beachbody Super Trainers Joel Freeman and Jericho McMatthews to ensure music fans can fist-pump, crowd-surf, endure the long lines and cover the distance between festival stages without a worry.

Knowing the summer concert season can test even the biggest music fans’ endurance levels, the exclusive 45-minute regimen combines strength training and stretching to prepare concert-goers to dance for hours, raise their phones for countless selfies, and relax tired neck muscles after a long day of looking up at their favorite performers.

“Warm summer days and long summer nights means it’s time to get out to hear live music, especially at festivals, and StubHub wants to make sure that nothing stops fans from the magic of experiencing their favorite acts, making sure they have the moves it takes to keep up at these high-energy events,” said Jessica Erskine, head of entertainment communications at StubHub. “Joel and Jericho’s top tips for concert season will get fans ready to stand up, shake it and go non-stop throughout festivals this summer.”

The moves designed by Beachbody’s Joel and Jericho exclusively for “Ready, Set, Live” include:

  • The Up All Day: Stay strong during long festival days (and nights) and keep that endurance going with moves like the high-knee jump rope and Spiderman climbers.
  • The Double-Up Dance: Mosh pit or dance floor, general admission or assigned seats, make sure you can bust the right moves with alternating clinch knees and triple lunge with rhythm.
  • The Look Out: Sometimes you need to play defense to avoid other fans’ dance move fails with roll jumps and ground-to-fighter stance.
  • The Best View: Not everyone can see over the crowd, so be sure you can still get a great view or find your friends in a crowd with the lateral jump, vertical jump and squat-squat jump.
  • The Encore: Help ease the soreness and get into a more relaxed state before the end of the night with neck stretches and shoulder rolls.

“Music festivals can be grueling! The long days we spend on our feet dancing, walking and standing in line can take a toll,” said Joel and Jericho, creators of Beachbody’s MMA workout Core de Force. “We’re excited to work with StubHub to help bring a fun and unique workout to audiences looking to make the most of their festival experience. This workout is tailored to help festival-goers stand tall and feel strong so they don’t miss a beat!”

Music lovers and festival-goers can try the workout at home via Beachbody On Demand (https://www.beachbodyondemand.com/blog/festival-season-exercises) and StubHub’s YouTube page (https://youtu.be/2zxfxaUGdMU). Watch StubHub and Beachbody social channels to learn how to participate in live pop-up workouts with Beachbody Super Trainers in Chicago ahead of Lollapalooza and in San Francisco prior to Outside Lands.

STUBHUB REVEALS THE TOP 10 MUSIC TOURS OF SUMMER 2017

Stubhub’s Third-Annual Summer Tour Preview Reveals U2 Is the Most In-Demand Act; Justin Bieber and Tool Offer the Best Value; and New Festivals Make the Top Five Music Festivals List

San Francisco – (May 15, 2017) – StubHub, the world’s largest ticket marketplace, today released its third-annual preview of the summer concert landscape, breaking down the most in-demand touring acts of summer 2017. U2 unseats last year’s leader, Adele, by taking the #1 spot on the list, which heavily features legacy rock artists for the third year in a row. Top contemporary artists like Ed Sheeran also rank highly, and Kendrick Lamar broke the top 10 list for the first time, only three weeks after his tour was announced.

2017 Top Selling Acts
Based on total sales on StubHub for U.S. dates from Memorial Day to Labor Day

  1. U2
  2. Ed Sheeran
  3. Bruno Mars
  4. Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers
  5. Lady Gaga
  6. Metallica
  7. Kendrick Lamar
  8. Tool
  9. Justin Bieber
  10. Roger Waters

By the Numbers: Breaking Down the Top 10 List

  • Legacy rock acts have dominated the list for the last three years, demonstrating an ongoing command of the touring landscape throughout the summer
  • #1 U2 outsells #2 Ed Sheeran by 65%, even with fewer than half as many shows in the summer months (13 vs. 32), and exceeds last year’s #1, Adele, by 15%, even with eight fewer dates
  • Looking at average sales per-show, U2 still dominates, outselling the second highest per-show performer (Lady Gaga) by 118%; eight of U2’s dates are the top in-demand of individual events all summer; the June 3 Chicago appearance is the most in-demand concert of the summer
  • The only artist to return to the list from 2016 is Justin Bieber
  • Tool is the most affordable top 10 act to see this summer based on the lowest average ticket prices overall
  • Justin Bieber is a great deal this summer – his tour sold the least expensive ticket of acts in the top 10, and the price of tickets purchased on StubHub this year is down 40% over last summer
  • When tickets for Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. tour went on sale April 28, searches on StubHub quadrupled from the day before and he shot into the top 10 selling summer acts in one week – his position on the list is likely to keep climbing as the summer progresses
  • Roger Waters may be the hardest working on the list this summer with the most tour dates (34) of anyone in the top 10 during the summer months; Ed Sheeran (26 years old) is second with 32 tour dates

Music festivals continue to be a way for an increasing number of fans to see a multitude of acts between independent headlining tours. BottleRock, as a relatively newer festival, has been the fastest growing summer music festival over the past three years (demand has nearly tripled since 2015).  Keeping in line with the trending demand of legacy rock acts, two out of three of the top music festivals this summer are devoted to classic rock acts.

The most in-demand U.S. summer music festivals based on ticket sales on StubHub to date are:

  1. CMA Music Festival (June 8-11 in Nashville, TN)
  2. BottleRock Napa (May 26-28 in Napa, CA)
  3. Lollapalooza (August 3-6 in Chicago, IL)
  4. The Classic East (July 29-30 in Flushing, NY)
  5. The Classic West (July 15-16 in Los Angeles, CA)

STUBHUB PARTNER WITH NORTHAMPTON SAINTS TO TAKE TICKETING INTO A NEW ERA

Northampton Saints has announced a new partnership with StubHub, which will see the club introduce a new ticketing platform for the 2017/18 season.

Unlike the previous Elite Sponsorship agreement between the club and company, this new partnership sees StubHub become the Saints’ official ticketing partner, and be the outlet for all tickets, whether for the season or individual matches.

Saints and StubHub will be utilising an integration with the Event Ticketing software from SAP – one of the world’s largest software companies – to offer supporters some brand new and unique features, including ticket transferability and the ability to log into online accounts through Facebook.

In response to considerable amounts of feedback and comments during the past year, Season Ticket Holders will once again be able to re-sell their seats or terrace spots for games they cannot attend through StubHub, setting their own price and managing their own account. This facility will also be offered for all supporters for the first time, too, meaning that if – for whatever reason – a supporter cannot attend a match they will be able to re-sell the ticket.

Match tickets for individual game purchasers will be available as downloadable pdfs, on smartphones to scan at the turnstiles, or as traditional paper versions, with purchasers of re-sold tickets also able to receive their ticket via email for the first time, too.

As part of the partnership StubHub branding will appear on all backroom playing staff computers on match days.

“We’re very excited to be partnering up with StubHub once again,” said Saints commercial director Brian Facer. “Comments from our supporters had been that our ticketing website needed to provide a smooth process for booking match tickets and Season Tickets, so we conducted an extensive review of every type of software available on the market.

“The SAP Event Ticketing software used by StubHub is second to none and will give us the flexibility to be fully responsive to all our supporters, whether they have been at Franklin’s Gardens for years as a Season Ticket Holder or are coming to us for the first time.

“StubHub will also give us the ability to reach a larger audience, something which is crucial as we look to expand as a club in the future, turning more people into Saints supporters and underpinning the investment into the playing effort.”

Nick Harford, StubHub UK’s head of business development and partnerships, international, is delighted to be working once again with the Saints.

“We are delighted to partner with Northampton Saints once again, and this time on a broader level where we will provide a new overall ticketing platform, utilising StubHub’s integration with SAP’s Event Ticketing software,” he said. “We look forward to developing our long-term partnership.”

The lineup for Rock in Rio includes major acts such as Lady Gaga, Bon Jovi, Maroon 5, Justin Timberlake, Guns N’ Roses, The Who, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and several others, and will take place in Barra Olympic Park, Rio de Janeiro, on Sept. 15-17 and 21 -24.

“StubHub connects people to inspiring experiences, and as the international ticketing partner for Rock in Rio, we will offer international fans an innovative, easy-to-use, secure platform to purchase their tickets to one the world’s most dynamic music festivals,” said Ricardo Noryo, StubHub Director of Partnerships in Latin America. “Since the 2013 edition of Rock in Rio, Rio de Janeiro, we have seen international ticket sales to events in Brazil more than double, and we may be looking forward to the most global edition of Rock in Rio to-date.”

As an international ticketing partner, StubHub will leverage its global marketplace to give music and festival fans in countries outside of Brazil easy, secure access to a great selection of ticket inventory for Rock in Rio. Tickets go on sale on StubHub.com and StubHub’s international sites this Thursday, April 6, and consumers outside of Brazil can use StubHub to purchase Rock in Rio tickets in their own language and currency.

“At Rock in Rio, we strive for a lineup composed of the biggest music acts worldwide and each year we are seeing a growing number of international attendees at the event,” said Roberta Medina, Rock in Rio executive vice-president. “Therefore, we chose StubHub as we want fans anywhere in the world to have the best possible experience buying their tickets for the event.”

StubHub’s 2016 acquisition of Ticketbis allowed it to expand its presence to 48 countries around the world and surface domestic and international events to consumers. The partnership with Rock in Rio follows similar, recently announced agreements with Major League Baseball’s Los Angeles Angels and Toronto Blue Jays, Mexico’s Tijuana Xolos football club, the Singapore Rugby 7’s and Brazil Rugby National Team.
